About Jim Harrison
Growing up in Greece, NY, the son of a Kodak employee and a wonderful Mother, it seems I was constantly being told that I should become an attorney. Perhaps it was the (unfortunate at the time) fact that I liked to argue. Or maybe it was because I was good at debating an issue and successfully getting my point across. While these may have played a role, my ultimate decision to become an attorney was based, quite simply, upon my desire to help people.
After graduating summa cum laude from SUNY Potsdam, I went on to earn my law degree from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Upon my return to Rochester, I had several jobs representing insurance companies in Workers’ Compensation cases and Personal Injury lawsuits. On the one hand, the experience was invaluable as I learned how the insurance companies work, how they thought, what they wanted to do and how they went about doing it. But, on the other hand, I was helping insurance companies, not people.
I therefore set out on my own, representing only those who have been injured: injured workers, injured drivers, injured children, injured men, injured women, etc.—you get the picture. To this law practice of helping people who have gotten hurt, and only people, I bring all of my prior legal experience, on both sides of the courtroom. And it is my honor to do so.
